The eclectic Ambos Mundos Hotel was built in the late 1920's and it is an intimate and cozy place that stands out because of its history. In the early 1930's, American writer Ernest Hemingway lived here for a few years. In room 511 he wrote the first chapter of 'For Whom the Bell Tolls', as he found the hotel 'a good place to write'. Nowadayas, the room the writer keeps some of his belongings and the Plaza de Armas restaurant serves his favorite dishes. Besides, the hotel has a wonderful rooftop bar-restaurant that has exquisite grilled food and the best of the views. The privileged location of the hotel, in the heart of Old Havana, makes it an excellent place to explore this beautiful area of the city.
